Party of the Rich?

Our country has been heavy on my heart for a long time. I'd like your opinion on the following link to an article and on my thoughts below.  The article is quite lengthy. I hope you take the time to read this and join me in prayer about the state of our nation. A malicious trick has been played on the people in America and we all need to wake up and recall the words of our Lord in Matthew 25 and start voting in line with the gospel.

25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.
25:34 Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
25:35 For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in:
25:36 Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me.
25:37 Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry and fed thee: thirsty and gave thee drink?
25:38 Or when did we see thee a stranger and took thee in? Or naked and covered thee?
25:39 Or when did we see thee sick or in prison and came to thee?
25:40 And the king answering shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me.

In light of this, please consider the additional verses below. Do you think the context is appropriate? I sure do. We began as a christian nation, our Statue of Liberty has the inscription "...Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she with silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"  And now the other nations are appalled at what we have done to our democracy and to our legacy

I am currently reading a book about the Last Things that St Therese of Liseux said was very inspiring to her in her prayers for our world. I too believe that we are in the end of days and I see that the passages regarding greed and immorality and the oppression by the wealthy spoken of in the book of James and the letters from Paul to Timothy are being played out.

James 2
2:5 Hearken, my dearest brethren: Hath not God chosen the poor in this world, rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which God hath promised to them that love him?
2:6 But you have dishonoured the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you by might? And do not they draw you before the judgment seats?

2Timothy 3
3:1 Know also this, that in the last days shall come dangerous times.
3:2 Men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, haughty, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked,
3:3 Without affection, without peace, slanderers, incontinent, unmerciful, without kindness,
3:4 Traitors, stubborn, puffed up, and lovers of pleasure more than of God:
3:5 Having an appearance indeed of godliness but denying the power thereof. Now these avoid.

Just an opinion ...

"And a good opinion at that. You provided an excellent, eye-opening article. Thank you. My only surprise is that more people don’t understand what is going on here. Greed is running rampant and unchecked. Our system, set up to encourage free enterprise has been corrupted. How can there be trickle-down economics when some of the most powerful wealthy corporations, which should be acting as the base of our economic structure, are actually driving our economy to ruin by sending our jobs overseas? How much longer can the middle class carry the nation before we are crushed under the weight? And what happens to the poor when that happens? So many of our religious institutions have been brainwashed into thinking that we must be protected from ‘the liberals.’ They don’t seem to understand that they are not supporting conservative Christian family values, but instead are protecting the economic conservatives that are leaving the work that Jesus commanded of us undone. You brought His loving words into our minds, may they be forever instilled in our hearts, and may they then make a difference in our nation"
